Configure evaluation of the online/asynchronous training

When you configure the evaluation of a module, the questions will be presented to the student when they finish it.

This allows you to assess the student's understanding of the content covered and reinforce learning in an interactive way.

Instructions

Follow the instructions below according to the training evaluation settings: per module or at the end of the training.

Evaluation per module

If you select the option Test per module in the Test field when registering the training, you can register questions for each module you want. In this case, each module will have its own evaluation based on the questions configured.


To register the questions and answers, follow the steps below:

  1. Click on Trainings on the main menu

  2. Click on the Online/Asynchronous submenu

  3. Click on the Published tab if the training is already published, or the Not Published tab if the training is not yet published

  4. Locate the desired training

  5. Click on the button at the end of the line

  6. Click on the To Change option

  7. Click on the Modules tab

  8. Locate the desired module

You can find the modules that have assessment by the No. of Questions and Evaluation Settings columns in the list.

  1. Click on the button at the end of the line

  2. Click on the To Change option

  3. Click on the Evaluation tab

On the next screen, you can see the list of questions registered for the module and their characteristics.

  1. Click on the New question > Create question button

  2. Fill in the fields paying attention to the characteristics you want for the question and answer

  3. Click Save to register


To add questions that already exist in other modules, follow the steps below:

  1. Return to the module's question list

  2. Click on the New question > Select existing button

On the next screen, you can view the list of questions that already exist in other modules, with the name of the training and the module it belongs to.

  1. Select the desired question(s) by checking the Select option box

  2. Click Add to add the selected questions


After adding the questions to the module, to configure the evaluation, follow the steps below:

  1. Return to the module's Evaluation tab

  2. Click on the Configuration button

  3. Fill out the necessary fields, as instructed below:

Evaluation Time (max) (mandatory)

Enter the time, in minutes, that the student will have to take the assessment.

Questions display (mandatory)

Select the desired option to define whether the questions will be displayed randomly or in a fixed order:

  • Random: the questions are drawn from a bank of questions, respecting the difficulty levels set by the administrator. In this way, each student can access a different test.

  • Fixed: the questions are always displayed according to the selection made when the evaluation was created, with no variation between students. By selecting this option, the difficulty fields are hidden and all the questions registered in the evaluation will be displayed.

By selecting the Fixed option, a sort button will be enabled in the list of questions, allowing the administrator to manually define the sequence in which they will be presented.

Difficulty Easy, Medium, and Hard (mandatory)

Setting only available if the display of questions is random.

Enter the number of questions desired for each difficulty. 

Beside each field, it will appear how many questions you have available for selection on each difficulty. 

When you enter a quantity in the field that is smaller than the available questions, random questions will be presented among the available ones.

Average for approval (mandatory)

Enter the average for approval. The field will be automatically populated according to your account settings, but can be changed.

Feedback (mandatory)

Select the desired option to have the question answer appear or not appear to the student during the assessment. Selecting: 

Not to apply, the question answers will not be displayed; 

Instant, the answer will be displayed after each question answered; 

After Approval, the answers will be presented after the completion of the assessment only if the student is passed; or

After Evaluation, the answers will be presented after the completion of the evaluation, regardless of whether the student passed or failed.

Allow material to be sent (mandatory)

Select the No option to not allow the student to submit material, or the Yes option to allow it. 

If Yes is selected, a new field will be enabled to fill in the description of the material.

Number of Test Attempts (mandatory)

Enter the number of times the student can fail.

If more than one attempt is configured, in the student's view, if they fail the evaluation, the results screen will display the number of attempts remaining.

When running out of attempts (mandatory)

Select the desired option for when the student runs out of attempts. By selecting: 

The student must request a new attempt, the student can request the administrator for a retry; 

Zero student performance in the module, the student's entire progress in the module will be reset and all content must be consumed again; or

Take no action, the status will be set as failed.

Hide grade for student (mandatory)

Select the desired option to have the final grade presented to the student or not. Selecting: 

Using account settings, it will replicate the option selected in the account settings; 

No, to not hide the grade; or 

Yes, to hide the grade.

  1. Click Save to perform the module evaluation settings


To sort the display of questions if it is fixed, follow the steps below:

  1. Return to the module's list of questions

  2. Click on the Sorting button

  3. Drag the questions to reorder


After configuring the evaluation, to view it as it will be presented to the student, follow the steps below:

  1. Return to the module's list of questions

  2. Click on the View Evaluation option in the list

The evaluation will be displayed exactly as it will be presented to the student, allowing you to validate the questions before releasing it.

If necessary, after viewing the evaluation, adjust the questions or settings until you achieve the desired result.

Evaluation at the end of the training

If you select the option Test at the end of the training in the Test field when registering the training, you can register the questions directly in the training. This way, the evaluation will only be applied at the end of all the modules, taking into account the configured questions.

For the evaluation settings to be available, at least one module must be registered in the training.

If necessary, after viewing the evaluation, adjust the questions or settings until you achieve the desired result.
